We've been delighted to be involved in the design and installation of a large solar water heating system to warm the swimming pool at Owhata School, Rotorua.

The school have already put a building over the pool to keep it warmer for the kids.  Despite this improvement the pool was still sitting at a pretty chilly 22 or 23 degrees celsius.  Definitely not warm enough for a comfortable swim for the kids.  The pool was not great for helping them to learn some life saving basics and importantly to have some sporty fun!

Apricus and local installation partner Renewable Energy Limited designed a solar system that is keeping the pool at a very comfortable 28 degrees.  The kids are loving the change and the project caught some attention in the Rotorua Daily Post.
